GTLA President Darren Penn Congratulates Governor Deal’s Three New Appointees to the Court of Appeals
Atlanta, GA – Today, Governor Nathan Deal announced that he has appointed Judge Amanda Mercier, District Attorney Brian Rickman and Nels Peterson to the Georgia Court of Appeals, effective January 1st, 2016. In response to the appointments, Georgia Trial Lawyers Association President Darren Penn released the following statement:

These attorneys are the epitome of the ‘cream of the crop’ in Georgia’s legal community, having been selected from more than 200 highly-qualified and remarkably-skilled nominees. As any lawyer will tell you, our Court of Appeals plays a vital and irreplaceable role in ensuring that our State Constitution and laws are respected, protected and adhered to by all, and I am confident that Judge Mercier, District Attorney Rickman and Mr. Peterson will be strong additions to our intermediate appellate court.”
