GTLA Donates Over $14,000 in Trial Practice Manuals to Legal Advocacy Groups Across Georgia
Atlanta, GA – This week, the Georgia Trial Lawyers Association donated 36 GTLA Trial Practice Manuals to legal advocacy organizations across the state. Considered a “must-have” for anyone involved in civil litigation, the Trial Practice Manual guides attorneys step-by-step through every stage of a trial and is frequently seen in use on counsel’s table inside of the courtroom.
The Trial Practice Manuals, which are valued at $399 each, were donated to Atlanta Legal Aid (6), the Atlanta Volunteer Lawyers Foundation (5), the Georgia Legal Services Program (12), GreenLaw (5), Lawyers for Equal Justice (3), and the Wilbanks Child Endangerment and Sexual Exploitation Clinic at the University of Georgia School of Law (5).
“For over two decades, the GTLA Trial Practice Manual has served as an invaluable resource for our members as they relentlessly pursue justice for their clients,” remarked GTLA President Pope Langdale. “We are proud to have the opportunity to share this tool with some of the hardest-working legal organizations in Georgia and their deserving clients, and it is our hope that the TPM will have the same profound impact on their cases that it has had for so many of ours.”
The Trial Practice Manual contains detailed chapters on Statutes, Pre-trial Organization, Procedure, Voir Dire, Opening Statements, Evidence, Witnesses, Closing Arguments, Court Charges, Post-Trial and Conduct of Counsel. It was written by some of the foremost trial experts in Georgia, including Professor Charles Cork, Robin Frazer Clark, Adam Malone, Jay Cook and many others.
John Christopher Clark, Editor of the Trial Practice Manual, added, “Since 1993, the GTLA Trial Practice Manual has undergone several comprehensive revisions by an extraordinarily capable group of editors and authors, and I believe that this TPM is the most substantial edition in the life of the manual. With that in mind, I am confident that these commendable organizations will find the TPM to be both useful and educational, and our whole team looks forward to seeing all that they continue to accomplish for their clients with the help of this tool.”
